1. Introduction

The Pennsylvania Department of Education seeks nominations of exceptional educators for a variety of exclusive opportunities and experiences. The educator must have at least five years of experience in education and a combination of the features below:

1) Exceptional instructional practices and student learning results in classroom and school settings.


2) Exemplary educational accomplishments beyond the classroom that provide models of excellence for the profession.


3) Significant and unique contributions to education that are worthy of the spotlight and may traditionally be unrecognized.


4) A strong, long-range potential for professional and policy leadership in education.


5) An engaging and inspiring presence that motivates and impacts students, colleagues, and the community.

Please complete the recommendation form on the following page for everyone you are nominating.

1. Include a one-page letter explaining how each educator meets the criteria outlined above.


2. Include a resume for each educator. Recommendations must be complete in order to be considered.
